There’s no limit to where Sunbury College students can go
On Day 6 of the Paralympic swimming finals, former student, Ashleigh McConnell along with three of her teammates grabbed a silver medal for Australia for their stellar performance in the 4×100 freestyle relay event. The news came as a shock to the Dolphins who had finished third but stood second on the ladder. It was due to the disqualification of the American (originally 1st) and British (originally 4th) swimming teams for availing an early changeover at the second leg that our Dolphins rose to 2nd position.
Ashleigh McConnell, who is limb-deficient shone as she swam the final anchor leg showing the Sunbury community that resilience can take you as far as a silver medal at the Paralympics! This is not the first time Ashleigh has filled us with pride. At the 2016 Rio Paralympics, she won a gold medal claiming herself a place at the 2020 Paralympics as a finisher. We wish her the best for her upcoming events.
